Boarding and Welcome in Parikia, Paros – Sailing to Schinoussa
SATURDAY:
In the late afternoon, we’ll meet in Parikia, the main port of Paros, ready to begin our sailing adventure. After boarding, a welcome drink will allow us to get to know each other and get into the spirit of the cruise. The skippers will show you to your cabins so you can settle in and familiarize yourself with the boat. The evening concludes with a delicious dinner on board, prepared by your skippers, the perfect way to begin this journey in a convivial and relaxing atmosphere.
SUNDAY:
We leave the Gulf of Parikia, crossing the strait between Paros and Antiparos, a passage characterized by shallow waters and popular among kitesurfing enthusiasts. From here, we begin a long, broad-hauled, crosswind voyage toward the tranquil and charming Schinoussa.
Schinoussa is a small island where agriculture still predominates, and tourism has remained limited. The unpaved roads and the simplicity of Chora, a handful of houses scattered along the main road, transport visitors to an authentic and timeless atmosphere.
We anchor in the beautiful bay of Livadi, where, after a relaxing lunch on board, we’ll enjoy the afternoon swimming and relaxing. In the late afternoon, a scenic walk will take us to Chora, traversing paths that offer wonderful views of the island.
To immerse ourselves in the authentic heart of this Cycladic island, we treat ourselves to an aperitif in one of the traditional bars in Schinoussa’s Chora. Sitting outdoors, we enjoy a glass of local wine and let ourselves be enveloped by the colors and scents of the island, observing the tranquil life that animates this authentic corner of Greece.
After returning to the boat, the skippers prepare a special dinner on board, creating a convivial and relaxed atmosphere to end the day. We dine lulled by the quiet of Livadi Bay, immersed in the beauty of this peaceful and serene island.
Sailing to Amorgos, Visit to the Monastery of Hozoviotissa and Dinner in Chora
MONDAY
We leave Schinoussa and head towards Amorgos, ready for a voyage that, with the right wind, can be intense and fun. Amorgos is a wild and arid Cycladic island, where the intense blue of the sea creates a fascinating contrast with the barren, rocky landscape that makes it unique.
We anchor in the large bay of Katapola, in a quiet cove dominated by a picturesque little church, ideal for an onboard lunch immersed in the island’s beauty. In the afternoon, we visit the famous monastery of Hozoviotissa, an architectural jewel nestled in the rock 300 meters above sea level on the south coast. To reach it, we rent a scooter, a perfect way to explore the island and reach the foot of the monastery. From there, a staircase leads us to this spectacular place, suspended between sky and sea.
The effort of the climb will be rewarded by a breathtaking view and the warm welcome of the monks, who often offer a glass of Rakomelo, a hot drink made with raki and honey, accompanied by fruit and sugar sweets. It’s a visit that combines spirituality, nature, and tradition, making this day in Amorgos an unforgettable highlight of your sailing holiday.
In the evening, we’ll move to the Chora of Amorgos, considered one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades, with its whitewashed streets and traditional houses. We’ll dine in a typical local taverna, immersed in the authentic and charming atmosphere of this ancient village, ending the day with flavors and aromas that express the island’s soul.
Sailing to Antikeros and a Night Under the Stars
TUESDAY
We set off on a 10-mile sail, sailing close-hauled, heading towards Antikeros, two uninhabited islands separated by a narrow channel that creates a splendid anchorage. This unique location is ideal for a dip in the crystal-clear waters and a revitalizing lunch on board, immersed in the peace of this remote corner of the Cyclades.
In the afternoon, we head to a nearby secluded cove, where wild nature reigns supreme. Here, with a little luck, we might spot monk seals, which often roam the rocks and waters of this pristine area.
The evening continues with a dinner prepared by your skippers, who will serve delicious and authentic dishes, perfect for ending the day.
After dinner, we enjoy the magic of the night sky, far from any form of light pollution. This corner of the Aegean Sea is perfect for admiring shooting stars and recognizing constellations, transforming the night into an unforgettable experience under the starry sky.
Relaxing Day in Kato Koufonissi and Evening on Koufonissi
WEDNESDAY
Today we’re dedicated to relaxation, with little sailing and plenty of sea! We’ll start the day with a short sail to Kato Koufonissi, a small, almost uninhabited island with long, white sandy beaches. We’ll anchor just a few dozen meters from the shore, in crystal-clear waters inviting you to dive in.
The afternoon is all about swimming and relaxing in this heavenly setting.
In the late afternoon, we’ll head to Koufonissi, just a 30-minute sail away, for a livelier evening. Here, among the picturesque streets and trendy bars, we’ll enjoy a social evening immersed in the island’s charming atmosphere. Dinner will be ashore, in a traditional taverna, to savor local cuisine and end the day with authentic flavors and conviviality.
Sailing south of Naxos
THURSDAY
We’ll stop in a beautiful bay south of Kato Koufonissi, where we’ll drop anchor in the turquoise waters for a moment of pure relaxation. Here, between refreshing swims and the serene atmosphere of the island, we’ll enjoy a regenerating break. After lunch, we’ll set sail again for a pleasant sail south of Naxos, enjoying the ever-changing panorama of the Cyclades islands, lulled by the wind and the rhythm of the sea.
The evening concludes with a special dinner on board, inspired by Italian culinary tradition: our skippers will prepare tagliatelle al ragù, a rich and flavorful dish served under the starry sky. It’s the perfect end to a day combining the pleasure of good food with the tranquility of the bay, immersed in the natural charm of Naxos.
Sailing between Naxos and Paros and Evening in Parikia
FRIDAY
An intense and exciting day of sailing awaits us, crossing one of the windiest stretches of the Aegean: the channel between Naxos and Paros. We’ll begin with a broad reach, enjoying a fast and pleasant crossing, then switch to a close-hauled pace, which will make the sailing even more exciting.
Our destination is a small island in the channel between Paros and Antiparos, where we’ll drop anchor for lunch in the bay, surrounded by crystal-clear waters. The afternoon will be dedicated to relaxation, with swimming and rest on board, immersed in the tranquility of this secluded bay. Toward evening, we’ll set sail for Parikia on the island of Paros, where we’ll drop anchor in the bay opposite the port for our last evening together.
Dinner will be in a traditional taverna in Parikia, amidst the aromas and flavors of Greek cuisine, in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere that makes this place special.
SATURDAY
On Saturday morning, after breakfast on board, we prepare for disembarkation. We conclude this adventure taking with us the memories of the unforgettable moments spent among the Cyclades islands on the Walkabout, your holiday boat.
